How to Check Your Saudi eVisa Online (MOFA) — Step-by-step Guide
This simple guide shows you, step by step, how to check whether a Saudi eVisa is genuine using the official MOFA website (mofa.gov.sa). Follow the steps below.
What you will need
- A phone or laptop with an
internet browser (Chrome, google, Safari, etc.)
- Your Visa Application
Number (found under the barcode on your visa document)
- Your Passport number
Step-by-step instructions
Step 1 — Open the MOFA website
- Open your browser and go to visa.mofa.gov.sa
- If a language popup appears,
choose English (or keep Arabic if you prefer).
- If any introductory popup or
message appears, close it to continue.
Step 2 — Go to the Inquiry section
- Look for the Inquiry
(or “Enquiry”) tab / menu on the MOFA homepage.
- Click it to open the inquiry form.
Step 3 — Select the correct search type
- In the Inquiry form you will
see a drop-down labeled Document Type / Search Type (it may show
“Order Number” by default).
- From the drop-down select Visa
Application Number (or the option that matches your visa application
number).
Step 4 — Enter your details
- Type your Visa
Application Number into the appropriate field. (This number is printed
under the barcode on your visa.)
- Enter your Passport
Number in the passport field.
Step 5 — Complete the captcha and submit
- Enter the captcha code
exactly as shown.
- Click the Inquiry (or
Search) button to submit the form.
- If a pop-up appears after
clicking, close it to reveal the results.
Step 6 — Read the result page
When the
search completes, the site displays the visa details. Typical information you
will see:
- Visa Number
- Validity (From / To)
- Place of Issue (city or consulate)
- Visa Type (e.g., WORK)
- Name
- Nationality
- Date of Birth
- Passport Number
- Reference Number and
Reference Date
- Occupation / Employer Name
- Visa Application Number (usually under the barcode
on the result page)
- QR code and Barcode for the visa
Step 7 — Alternative: scan the QR code
- On the printed or digital
visa you may see a QR code.
- Scan the QR code with your
phone camera.
- Tap the link that opens — it should bring you to the same MOFA result page with the visa details. This is a quick way to confirm authenticity without typing numbers.
How to tell if the visa is original
- If the MOFA page opens and
shows matching details (name, passport number, visa type, place of issue),
the visa is almost certainly genuine.
- Check that the visa
application number on your copy matches the number shown on MOFA.
- If any key details are
missing, incorrect, or the site does not show a record, contact the issuer
(sponsor/employer or the issuing Saudi consulate) for clarification.
Common issues & troubleshooting
- Captcha not accepted — refresh the captcha or
reload the page and try again.
- Website not loading — try a different browser,
clear cache, or use mobile data instead of public Wi‑Fi.
- No result found — double-check the visa
application number and passport number. If still no result, contact your
sponsor, employer, or the issuing authority.
- Language confusion — switch to Arabic if the
English interface is missing some labels, then follow the same steps.
Privacy & safety tips
- Only enter your passport and
visa details on the official site mofa.gov.sa.
- Avoid using public or
unsecured Wi‑Fi when submitting personal details.
- Do not share full passport
numbers publicly.
