How to Create and Activate Your Absher Account — Step-by-Step Guide

Create and activate your Absher account online. Follow our easy guide to register, verify, activation and access Saudi Arabia’s official e-services from your phone or computer.

* Requirements

1. Iqama number (or Border number if you don’t have Iqama)
2. A mobile phone with internet access
3. A valid email address
4. Front camera for face verification

* Open a web browser

1. Open Google Chrome or any other browser on your phone.
2. In the search box type " Absher registration" (or the official spelling used by the local portal).
3. From the search results, click the Register link for the Avsar digital identity portal.

* Start registration

1. On the registration page, enter your Iqama number. If you do not have an Iqama, enter your Border number instead.

2. Enter your mobile number. Important: Do not type the leading zero (0); start from the digit after the zero because the country code (e.g., +96...) is already present.

3. Enter your email address. If you don’t know your email, you can find it on your phone’s Google/Play Store account settings.

* Create account username:

* Under Account Information, choose a username for your Abshar account.

👉 Username rules:

1. The first English letter must be uppercase. 

2. Include lowercase letters and at least one number.

3. The username must be at least 8 characters long (letters + numbers combined).

4. This username will allow you to log in to the official Avsar application. You may also log in later using your Iqama number if you prefer.

* Create Password

* Choose a secure password following the same rules as the username:

1. First English letter must be uppercase.

2. Include lowercase letters and at least one number.
3. Minimum 8 characters in length.

* Re-enter the same password in the Password Confirmation field.

*Captcha and agreement

1.Tick the checkbox next to the English language option (if required).

2. Enter the image code (captcha) exactly as shown on the screen.

3. Tick the I have read / terms checkbox (or similar) to accept the terms.

* Verify mobile code and finish registration

*Click Next to proceed.

1. A verification code will be sent to the mobile number you entered. Enter that code in the Verification Code field.

2. Click Register.

3. You should see a message: "Your digital ID has been created successfully." This means your Abshar account has been registered. However, the digital ID still needs activation.

* Activate your digital identity using the Abshar app

1. Open Google Play Store, App Store, or your phone’s app gallery.

2. Search for Abshar (or the app name used in your region) and download the official application.

3. Open the Abshar app.

4. If the app opens in Arabic, tap the Settings icon and switch the language to English.

From the app menu, choose Manage Digital Identity.

5. Tap Activate Digital Identity (or similar option).

6. Enter your Iqama number (or Border number) and tap Continue.

7. Enter your mobile number (the same number used during registration). Remember to start from the digit after the leading zero as explained earlier.

8. You will receive a verification code on your mobile—enter it and continue.

* Face verification (biometric activation)

1. The app will prompt you to Start Face Recognition.

2. Allow access to your phone’s front camera.

3. Position your face inside the on-screen frame and follow the instructions. Keep your face steady until the process completes.

4. After successful face recognition, you will see a message confirming your Digital Identity is activated.

* Logging into the Abshar app

1. Open the Abshar app and choose Login.

2. Enter either your username or your Iqama number in the Username/ID field.

3. Enter the password you created during registration.

4. Tap Login. A verification code will be sent to your mobile—enter it to complete login.

5. If prompted, enable additional security options shown by the app.

* View your personal details in the app

1. Tap your profile image in the app and select My Personal Details to view your name and sponsor information.

2. Tap My Passport to see your passport number and expiry date.

3. Tap Resident ID or My Resident ID to view your Iqama number and expiry date.

4. The app also displays digital copies of your Iqama and driving license, with a QR code that contains ID details.

* Tips & Troubleshooting *

1. If the username shows green (or a confirmation indicator), it means the username is valid.

2. Make sure your mobile number matches exactly the number used during registration; otherwise verification codes will not arrive.

3. If face recognition fails, try again in a well-lit place and keep the camera steady.
